What are Injectables?

Are you looking at the possibility of getting fillers, or Botox®, but you’re not sure which one or if both are right for you? Do all the advertisements and various brand names only add confusion to your decision? Then let me clarify a few things and maybe help you along your path to a brighter, smoother, and more youthful appearance.

Fillers, the short answer, are a variety of targeted treatments that can fill-in areas that are hollowing out due to age, soften lines due to age, and give you a significantly more youthful appearance without expensive and painful surgeries. Don’t let the variety of brands scare you into thinking that it is more complicated and difficult than that. Sculptra®, Juvederm®, Restylane®, Versa®, and Radiesse® are just a few of the name brands you might find being marketed by your Injection specialist. Equally so, you might have heard of Botox® or Dysport® as well. In combination, these targeted injections work to erase lines and fill in areas that need a boost in plumpness. Using Hyaluronic Acid, Calcium Hydroxylapatite, and various other dermal fillers, your face can look as full and youthful as you remember it being five to ten years ago. Softening lines with Botox®, Dyport®, Xeomin® or the newest wrinkle eraser, Juevue®, you can reduce the appearance of lines and bring back the well-rested and youthful look of the previous decade. In combination, you could easily see yourself with a healthy glow, younger appearance, and improved self-confidence.  As with most medically used drugs, there are a variety of treatments available with each and some work better for specific concerns. In most cases, it is simply a preference. Do you need to know which one is best for you, or why one is used over the other? Not specifically. Your injection specialist has been trained and educated to deal with all types of conditions related to the signs of aging and will utilize the tools best suited for gaining you the results you want.

So what should you do? My recommendation is first to find a specialist that you are comfortable with and who has the training and education to best help you reach your goals. Kevin at FaceTime Aesthetics is THE best injection specialist in Florida; if not the nation. He trains doctors, PA’s, Techs, and Drug manufacturers about the safe use, technique, and benefits of injectables. Once you have found the right provider, make sure you know what your goals are. Do you want to get rid of wrinkles? Do you want to fill in your cheeks? What do you see in the mirror that you wish you could correct? Once you’ve decided what you want or hope to achieve, discuss it with your provider. Be open and honest; point out what it is that you may dislike and most importantly, point out what it is that you like. He or she will be able to explain the treatment and detail the results you can expect.

Stop tamping down your desire to be the most youthful you that you can be by questioning how many brands and what does each brand do, and instead, ask yourself, “How many years younger do I want to look and feel?”
